Software Engineer

Cummings Properties is seeking a software developer with high attention to detail and a passion for creating high performing applications. You will work on designing, implementing and improving our data warehouse / business intelligence platform.

The ideal candidate will be a curious problem solver with solid technical skills and someone who is resourceful and will figure out how to get the answers to deliver solutions that work. S/he will work with a wide variety of end users, so having a collegial personality and being a team player is essential. MS Access is the current database backbone for some applications, but the successful candidate will play an active role in migrating to solutions based on newer platforms.

This position requires a strong working knowledge of the following basic qualifications:

  • 2+ Years’ experience with C# and Object-Oriented Design
  • Web application development with MVC, ASP.NET CORE, HTML, DHTML, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, JQuery
  • Solid software architecture experience
  • SQL Server experience
  • Experience using dependency injection
  • Experience with database tuning and optimization
  • TSQL Scripting and Optimization
  • Data migration experience
  • Web services (Restful)
  • JavaScript / AJAX
  • Capable of troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems
  • Ability to split time and attention across multiple ongoing projects
  • Visual Basic Script
  • Solid knowledge creating structured reports

 

Specific duties:

  • Design, developing and testing new features within our data warehouse
  • Create new interfaces to allow data to be securely transferred in and out of our system
  • Evaluate new tools / frameworks to use within our platform
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Actively solicit and incorporate feedback from clients and internal stakeholders on new software features and designs
  • Document and map applications
  • Stay current on database software and IT trends and topics
  • Work with end users and management on ad hoc data-related projects
  • Assist with general IT matters on an as-needed basis
